<p>It was announced on Thursday that Austin Elliott, goaltender of the Memorial Cup champion London Knights, has been invited to the <a href="https://theleafsnation.com/">Toronto Maple Leafs</a> training camp this fall.</p>

<p>Powered by Elliott and Leafs top prospect and <a href="https://theleafsnation.com/news/easton-cowan-memorial-cup-mvp-final-game-london-knights">tournament MVP Easton Cowan</a>, the Knights captured the<a href="https://theleafsnation.com/news/easton-cowan-london-knights-memorial-cup-final-with-victory-moncton-wildcats"> franchise&#8217;s third Memorial Cup</a> this past weekend in Rimouski, beating Gavin McKenna and the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-1.</p>
<p>While players like Cowan, Denver Barkey and Sam Dickinson were the headlining stars, Elliott was the backbone that kept the team in some challenging games during the postseason.</p>
<p>After spending over three years with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League, Elliott was release, and was waived to join the Knights in the Ontario Hockey League.</p>
<p>The move paid off for London. The UMass-Lowell commit posted a ridiculous 32-1 record during the regular season, going 16-1 in the playoffs, helping the green and gold win the J. Ross Robertson Cup for the second year in a row. With a 2.10 goals-against average during the regular season, Elliott helped the Knights win the Dave Pinkney Trophy for having the lowest team GAA in the league.</p>
<p>In the Memorial Cup, Elliott was first-class, posting a 1.59 GAA and .943 SV%, going 4-1 on the way to the championship. In the final, the 21-year-old posted his best performance, making 31 saves against Medicine Hat. He was named to the tournament&#8217;s All-Star Team, as well as earned the honour of being the tournament&#8217;s top goaltender.</p>
<p>Elliott&#8217;s sharp incline to becoming a notable prospect leads many to hope he can help make Lowell a contender in the competitive Hockey East next season.</p>
<p>In the meantime, Elliott will focus on facing shooters like Auston Matthews and William Nylander this September. This won&#8217;t be the Alberta native&#8217;s first time skating in a Leafs uniform. He participated in Toronto&#8217;s development camp in 2023.</p>
